Who am I?

Hey, I’m Rudi and I’m deeply curious about what’s going on in the travel industry. I started exploring travel when I enrolled into the Faculty of Tourism in Slovenia where I got a master’s degree in Tourism Management.

After and between that, I got a 360° view of the industry:

  • Started at 19 as a hospitality worker

  • Worked in academia

  • Founder of one of the first tourism podcasts in Slovenia

  • Organizer of networking retreats for travel professionals

  • Mentor for students of tourism - rewarded and recognized by Google.org

  • Co-founder of a socially responsible startup, acquired by an international organization

  • Slovenia Travel Massive Chapter Leader

  • Business and Product Development at World Discovery

Because of my curiosity to explore travel on a personal and business level, I decided to share with the world what I’m reading and working on.

What to expect?

This newsletter is my personal journal on my thoughts about the implications of the newest trends and technological and non-technological innovations in the tourism industry. From AI and Blockchain to experience design and sustainable practices.

I want to highlight the latest innovations and best practices in sustainable tourism, where travel can be a force for good - socially, economically and ecologically.

The newsletter will feature my research findings, real-life experiences, predictions, educational material from conferences and recaps of things I read and are relevant to travel.

It will sometimes be shorter, sometimes longer. It will be like the cocktail in a bar in Slovenia called ‘‘Inspiration in the moment’’ (literal translation) where the drink you get depends on the bartender’s inspiration.
